There are a lot of really great peafowl sites out there on the web, and if you can't find something you need on my site, they may be the place to turn. I have tried to gather as many as I could find on this page, dividing them into categories and providing brief descriptions to help you find what you need. If you have a peacock related site that you want others to see, you can send me an email or sign my guestbook and give me your site name and URL and I'll happily add your site to this page. And feel free to link to my site too.
United Peafowl Association
The United Peafowl Association is a great source of information on peafowl. Although under construction, it has a great design and many great sections are available. Some of these sections include a breeders directory (a very useful tool if you are searching for peafowl to buy), a knowledge base full very good information of different types, and classified ads with peafowl for sale.
Yahoogroups Peafowl Email Group
Though not a site exactly, this email group has been one of the most helpful resources about peafowl I've found. Filled with friendly,
knowledgable people, so much awesome information passes daily through this group about health, worming, genetics, general care,
hatching, laying, and so many other topics. If you are new to raising peafowl or have questions before you start, or just want
somewhere to talk about and appreciate these amazing birds, I recommend you join this group. The number of emails, especially in the
past year, has been high, but you can choose to receive daily digests or read the messages on the yahoogroup site to cut down on the number of messages your inbox will receive.
But it would be worth it to join this group just to search the archives, which are filled with so much useful knowledge.
Peafowl Talk Forum
This is another great group of peafowl owners and enthusiasts who have a ton of information they are willing to share. This site
should go on your favorites list for frequent browsing, and if you ever have a question posting it there will get you a quick answer.
Hopkins' Alternative Livestock's Peafowl Site
This is a newer site I recently found with a lot of great stuff on it. A great photo gallery and lots of articles about
peafowl including wing clipping, freeranging tips, incubation information, and medications used for peafowl.
The Wild Peacock Page
A great information site that has lots of facts and photos on some areas of peafowl raising not covered on most websites. Some of these special areas include a section on peacock feathers, a page on peafowl noises, descriptions of peafowl hazards and predators, and information about peafowl's sometimes unfortunate interaction with flowers.
Legg's Peafowl
The Legg family is the largest breeder of peafowl in the US and has been pivotal in developing the new midnight and jade mutations. Their site has a ton of photos
as well as practical information about raising peafowl, the history of many different mutations and birds for sale.
Cupples Farm
I recently discovered this site and am so glad I did! This site has photos of the hen, cock, and chick of most varieties of peafowl, as well as tons of practical information
about raising peafowl. Definitely worth spending some time here!
Feathersite
This is a very nice site that has lots of information, and a few pages with
good descriptions and photos of certain varieties of peafowl. It also has a
few video clips you can watch to see different aspects of peafowl behavior.
The Game Bird and Waterfowl's Pheasants & Peafowl Page
Although this site is mostly about pheasants, it has a good fact sheet on
each of the three natural types of peafowl, India Blue, Green, and Congo.
Scroll down to find them. There is also photo gallery of peafowl pics.
Peafowlareus
This site has a lot of interesting information about disease, incubation, egg binding, shipping, and worming, as well as a photo gallery.
Peafowl Informational Sites
Jim's Peacock Page
A very nice site that has a lot of peafowl information with many very nice
photos. It also includes a few links.
The Birth of A Peachick
A unique and interesting site about a peafowl egg's development and the
chick's hatching and early growth. This site has lots of good information
about peachicks and hatching peafowl eggs, as well as nice pictures.
Celeste Writes About Peafowl
The owner of the site tells her own peafowl experiences and relates her
knowledge of these birds she has gained through raising them.
Anacoda Peafowl
A nice site that includes pictures of many of the rarer and hard to find
varieties such as Oaten, Emerald Spaulding, and Silver Pied.
Von Russell Farm
This site contains an eclectic mix of information about such topics as building incubators and hatchers, hatching peafowl eggs,
shipping birds and eggs and peafowl care.
Bow's Peafowl Farm
Another site with many wonderful peafowl pictures. Check out the photo comparing a pure Green and Emerald Spalding hen. This one also includes some information and even has peafowl available for sale.
Animal Facts - Indian Peafowl
A very nice page that includes information about peafowl habitat, offers a
little of their history, and gives a good description of their features.
New Zealand Birds Peafowl
A page describing a flock of tame turned wild peafowl that have
become to many a nuisance in a section of New Zealand, although many enjoy their presence.
These are pages usually put out by organizations likes zoo, farms, or
encyclopedias that consist of one page describing peafowl. I have chosen to
just list them all here, because it would take forever to describe them all, but
they are worthwhile so check them out if you have the time.
PEACOCKS COME TO "KIBBENJELOK"
A very nice page about someone's personal experiences with many different types of peafowl.
